SIDE EVENT

On 3 April 2019, the Sargasso Sea Commission and the Government of Canada held a side event at United Nations Headquarters in New York during the second Intergovernmental Conference on an international legally binding instrument under UNCLOS on the conservation and sustainable use of marine biological diversity of ABNJ. This side event was designed to report on the workshop held in Bermuda 12-14 March 2019. The main objective of the March 2019 Workshop was to review the progress of the Sargasso Sea Commission work program to date, and discuss and consider options to build on the success of the Hamilton Declaration, with a view to strengthening the stewardship of the Sargasso Sea in the future.
